"The Morween"

Have you seen "Outlander" if not its a great movie and you should see it. This guy is called "The Morween" who is the creature bent on vengeance. I wanted to sculpt this one because it was a bit different and the skin and the tail would be a challenge. I spent a lot of time on the small details on this one and had considered butchering some of the kids night lights and use them to make the red lights that appear all over its tail and body in the movie. Maybe nextime.

The Green Gargoyle

I really liked this guy someone gave me a picture of him and I though I'd give it a bash and try and mimic the skin (which I did using bark off a tree) I used green to paint him because when he was grey it looked to much like a bulk produced resin statue.

"Go The Tigers"

I decided to try something a bit different from what I usually do and and after making a Melbourne Storm Artwork for a commission I thought the Tigers Logo would look great in 3D. I sold it within a few hours of showing it off when I finished.

Beckhams Dragon

New Client New Job, Boss at work wanted a dragon for his son. Had to be a "realish" looking dragon and had to be purple (favourite colour). Had a great idea with tree concept. Worked real well and decided that purple stripes might look better than a totally purple dragon. I'll have to find a better way to do the skin as it took me hours to roll the little balls at random sizes and put them on, anyway here is "Beckhams Dragon"

Gears of War Lt Carmine

This was for a Fan of "Gears of War" that I work with. He is a character from the game "Gears of War" called Anthony Carmine. I got a chance to use my new turquoise paint with a thick lacquer over the top for the armour. He supplied me with a few images of him and his armour weapons etc and I was quite happy with the turnout.

Blue Dragonfly

This one was a present that someone wanted for their cousin who loved Dragonfly's and her favourite colour was blue hence "The Blue Dragonfly".
I did a lot of experimenting for the wings as I really wanted some see through wings with the veins showing. I ended up with some thick plastic and some thick black 3d paint and of cause a nice stick.

Drinking Leprechaun

Another Job this time some one wanted a Leprechaun. He had a picture of quite an aggressive one drinking a large pint of Guinness. Used some special dyed Cotton for hair this time. I would have put him in a nice big dark green coat but the picture had him in a vest with his sleeves rolled up ready for a drink and a biff.

Buddah Wall Art

I had a hankering to do some more wall art and got a friend to describe the area she wanted to put the art and also what she was into. Mostly it left me with free range. As it was for outside I can up with this. The Buddha was painted with gold paint and then again with an ageing solution to darken the gold and to try to blend it in as much to the black background I made. I really enjoyed making this one.

Fashion

This one was some thing new for my wife's office , She is in the fashion industry and showed me a few ideas off the Internet and this was my first attempt at canvas painting. I really enjoyed doing this one and it gave me a taste of a different style of art. I'm keen the have another go this time maybe some sort of abstract buddah or face.
What do you think.

New Coffee Kiss

I started on the new "Coffee Kiss" I allowed more of my own style with this one not going off the original image but useing my wifes features and a little different in the structure of the spashes, different colour etc.

Odyssey Dreaming

Here is another one I completed recently called "Odyssey Dreaming" is from a book called "The encyclopedia of things that never were" I'm not sure of the real name of the picture but I called the Odyssey Dreaming when I scuplted it. Its actually done in Super Sculpey and finnished in a Metalic copper paint with and ageing agent over the top.

Witana

This bizzare piece is called witana which I made many years ago. He is a charactor out of Aboriginal Dreamtime Mythology called Witana. I can't remember the story real well but he cut himeself and used his blood to make the red ochre and burned himself to make the black. I'm a bit scetchy on these details as I said.

My Dragon

This is one of my more recent pieces , it was an idea I had floating around my head for some time. It did take a long time as I do not have a lot of spare time at home and I ran into a lot of issues like trying to bake a sculpture this size all at once. I had to hacksaw the wings off (as I had made a wire armature) and finnish them seperately and re attach at the end. Before this I useually would not attaemt to paint in such detail preffering to use a coat of metalic paint or use someone else to do the painting for me , but I was quite happy with my finished product.

Coffee Kiss

This is a piece that was requested by a my sister who saw the original and loved it. The piece is called coffee kiss. My wife loved it so much I am makeing another for her. Its great practice to try to creat the differences between the male and female facial features without any of the useual things like hair eyebrows etc. This was the main challenge.
